Description
Densimeter Hydrometer
A Densimeter is a floating glass body with a bulb filled with a metal weight and a cylindrical stem with a scale.
The hydrometer is immersed in the sample and the density of the sample can be read directly from the scale:
The deeper it sinks, the less dense is the sample.
Magnetic float densimeters are used to measure the density of liquids, mostly within small density ranges.
The float usually consists of a hollow
glass body that contains a magnet or a soft-iron core and the density of the
float is less than the density of the liquid to be measured.
